Lebanese politicians unanimously agreed that Hezbollah helped the Iranian regime to impose its guardianship on Lebanon through illegal weapons after Bashar al-Assad's regime withdrew its forces and ostensibly ended fis regime’s guard over such small neighbor.
The army forces of the Syrian regime withdrew from Lebanese territory 12 years ago after the independence uprising, which erupted in response to the assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri,as the the Assad regime and Hezbollah accused of involvement in.
Replacement of guardianship
"The Syrian guardianship in Lebanon has been replaced by Syria's regional allies, (the Iranian guardianship) through its military arm in Lebanon," said retired Brigadier-General Wahba Qatisha, advisor to Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea.
"The Lebanese people are still rejecting this Iranian hegemony and fighting to liberate," Qatisha said. "The Lebanese should praise God because Bashar al-Assad and his father Hafez did not act in Lebanon and its people, as it does with the Syrian people," according to the Middle East website.
He added: "Since the beginning of the Syrian revolution, the crimes committed against innocent Syrians, various crimes, the latest chemical rejected by the countries of the world, knowing that the Lebanese are well remembered what the Syrian guardianship of crimes against Lebanon and its people, political assassinations and arrests.
Intelligence agents Network
For his part, Rashid Fayed, member of the Political Bureau of the Future Movement, said that the Syrian army's exit from Lebanon was surprising, because what was required of it was to withdraw to the Bekaa according to the Taif Agreement.
Fayed pointed out that although the Assad regime maintained a network of intelligence agents in Lebanon, the Lebanese people exerted every effort to surround them and expose them to the Lebanese security services, especially those who were not convinced of the independence uprising.
"The Syrian presence in Lebanon, which is particularly close to the occupation, has put an end to the Lebanese enthusiasm for Arab unity after its financial, security and social attacks in Lebanon," Fayed said.
